Punjabi University,Guru Kashi Campus, Damdama Sahib (Talwandi Sabo)

Patiala South Campus of Punjabi University is located at Talwandi Sabo, a sacred place for Sikhs in particular and people of all faiths in general. The fourth Takhat of Sikhs is located at Talwandi Sabo and is known as Damdama Sahib.

The Tenth Guru of Sikhs Shri Guru Gobind Singh Jee after sacrificing his entire family in the battles against oppression of tyrants, stayed at Damdama Sahib and got compiled the sacred book of Shri Guru Granth Sahib through Bhai Mani Singh.

This land was blessed by Shri Guru Gobind Singh Jee as 'Hamari Kashi' a centre of higher learning. Punjabi University for this noble cause setup its campus in 1988 and named it as Patiala South Campus for transforming the professional education scene in the heart of Malwa region.
